Servas has given us so many amazing experiences over the years, and our recent visit by SYLE student, Matheus Nienow, ranks right at the top. Matheus is a member of Servas Brazil and is role model and leader among Servas youth. That is great news for the future of Servas. All his hosts we talked to commented on his open flexible attitude and interest in all new experiences.
Matheus has ideas on how to grow SYLE and hopes to have a page on servas.org where Servas communities can INVITE young people to come to their area and market their SYLE experience. He also discovered American icecream, which delighted him to no end.
We found great success setting up the SYLE with one family coordinating and involving many in the Eugene area members, with day hosts, short or longer stay hosts, and generally knowing one-size-doesn’t-fit-all.
We hope Matheus had a SYLE experience that contributes to his dream of working in international relations. We recommend him without reservation!
