Visiting Washington DC
Washington DC is not only famous and beautiful but also fun. We have some of the largest museums in the world, many famous monuments and buildings (the White House and Capitol being two), but we are also a city of neighborhoods, parks, local restaurants and clubs. We love to show off this smaller, more intimate side of our life to our travelers.
Travel to Washington is easy by plane, train or bus, and travel in the city by bus or our famous Metro subway system, or better yet by walking. Remember that most of our suburban areas are well-connected with the city by public transportation – your hosts can help you with this.
Washington DC can be a little confusing to travelers. Part of Maryland and Virginia are considered Washington DC even though they are different states. Technically Washington DC is not a state. The public transportation system serves all three areas (near the city).

Reagan National Airport (DCA) is on the Washington DC Metro train system. Dulles International Airport (IAD) and Baltimore Washington International Airport (BWI) also serve the area, although they require taxi or airport transportation service to get to Washington DC.
