Shortly after becoming a traveler, I stayed with a wonderful family who lived on the outskirts of Vienna. Five years later, I was staying with a delightful woman in Ireland who described her most recent guests. Incredibly, it was this same family. Similar meetings have happened since then, and it always reinforces my feeling of family."
"On this trip, I made it my mission to visit hosts who didn't receive many travelers. I called a woman who lived north of Darwin (Australia) and asked if next week would be convenient. She grew quiet and then exclaimed 'why me?!' I said that she sounded like an interesting person -- indeed she was 70 years old and had worked as a professional cake decorator. She told me that she'd never met an American before. She got to relive many wonderful memories and I got to know a delightful woman and learn about the Darwin of years ago."
"When my son heard that I had three Danish girls staying with me for the week-end he and his friends were over in a flash. As I went to my room that night I saw the car driving off with everyone inside; I don’t when they got back home. The boys came back the next night, but unfortunately my travelers had already headed to Philadelphia."
